The backspin makes the difference
The DONIC SLICE 40 has a sophisticated pimple design with a soft rubber surface tuned for defensive strategies. It is remarkably quicker as the former Slice rubber in its standard version. It offers more chop possibilities and more trickiness when defending. The DONIC SLICE 40 is not only for control, but it also has very good offensive characteristics for top-spin and counter attacks.

I have enjoyed playing with Donic slice 1.5mm, when I chop the ball with it I get plenty of backspin on it and it really slows the ball down.It is really good for short tight service erturns, that can make it dificult for the other person to get a safe start opening a rally. With this rubber I can do technicaly more dificult serves, that before may have been loose or off the table. When the points must be won it is easier when the serves are placed accurately. That makes it much easier to win third ball rallies.
My forehand loop drive now has a long draw and actualy finishes a bat width higher than my head. With this rubber I can place my forehand drive much more accurately, sometimes within a foot of the net.
Blocking is not as easy with this rubber and if it is a big part of your game i would recomend blues 1.8mm when you get it right though donic slice it really is nice to watch.

When the points are important to win the serves need to be placed accurately to win. It is so much easier to win third ball rallies now.
My forehand drive now has has a long draw and actually finishes a bat width higher than my head to compensate for the difference in rubber.I xcan now place my forehand drive more accurately, sometimes within a foot of the net.
I enjoy forehand to forehand rallies at full pace. This rubber generates plenty of speed when blocking loop drives and a small nudge when blocking the ball, can send it back even faster than it arrived. Because of the design of this rubber, on defence getting the angle right when the ball arrives is what swift returns are about and when it is done right it goes back really fast and low on the other side of the table. In full on forehand rallies blocking the ball with a bit of a nudge still is enough to gain the speed advantage to win.
